THE RUMBA MADRE RELEASES ALTERNATIVE CUMBIA “JUANITO” FROM THEIR UPCOMING ALBUM APROPIACIONES CULTURALES V.2

(December 16, 2025) — Following their satirical banger “Vibaporú,” the Spanish and Latin eclectic group The Rumba Madre is back with their newest humorous cumbia, “Juanito.” “Juanito” is a rhythmic cumbia about a man who wants to be a national hero and save any country from communists. “Juanito” is the newest track from The Rumba Madre, the eclectic band known for fusing punk with rumba, son, celtic music, flamenco, salsa, and more. In “Juanito,” they showcase their rhythmic cumbia, punk, and alternative sonic elements paired with their signature witty and engaging storytelling. By doing this, the band seeks to create a unique transnational experience that proves that all boundaries can be challenged. Their wide musical backgrounds and their equally satirical and committed multilingual lyrics break through the traditional standards of Latin music(s) to provide today’s multicultural and globalized world with an up-to-date soundtrack. Whether it is as a full band or with Spanish frontman David Vila Diéguez as a one-man band on vocals, guitar, bagpipes, tambourine, seashells, and on his home-made foot drum kit he calls “the drumcycle,” attending one of The Rumba Madre’s shows is a magical adventure everybody should experience. After releasing their debut album, Prisiones y Fugas, under the guidance of Iván Gutiérrez Carrasquillo (Calle 13, Cultura Profética, SOJA, etc.), The Rumba Madre now returns with a full new album, Apropiaciones Culturales V.2, in which they expand their musical experiments and continue to make us laugh with their always witty and sarcastic humor. This new album was produced by Juan de Dios Martín Antón (Gloria Trevi, Alejandra Guzmán, La Santa Cecilia, Camarón, Las Cafeteras, etc.) and includes the participation of top figures such as Kalani Trinidad (Cultura Profética) on flute, the Galician “Lilaina” ensemble (Vetusta Morla, C Tangana, etc.) on backing vocals, Ezequiel Navas (Raphael, Amaral, La Orquesta Mondragón, etc.) on drums, and Pepe Ortega (Juanes, Alejandro Sanz, etc.) on some of the arrangements. |

(16 de diciembre, 2025) — Tras su éxito satírico “Vibaporú”, el ecléctico grupo español y latino The Rumba Madre vuelve con su nueva y divertida cumbia,“Juanito”. “Juanito” es una cumbia rítmica sobre un hombre que quiere ser un héroe nacional y salvar a cualquier país de los comunistas. “Juanito” es el tema más reciente de The Rumba Madre, la ecléctica banda conocida por fusionar el punk con la rumba, el son, la música celta, el flamenco, la salsa y mucho más. “Juanito” muestra sus elementos rítmicos de cumbia, punk y sonidos alternativos, combinados con su característico estilo narrativo ingenioso y cautivador. Con ello, la banda busca crear una experiencia transnacional única que demuestre que todas las fronteras pueden desafiarse. Sus amplios antecedentes musicales y sus letras multilingües, tan satíricas como comprometidas, rompen con los estándares tradicionales de la música latina para ofrecer al mundo multicultural y globalizado de hoy una banda sonora actualizada. Tras lanzar su álbum debut, Prisiones y Fugas, bajo la dirección de Iván Gutiérrez Carrasquillo (Calle 13, Cultura Profética, SOJA, etc.), The Rumba Madre regresa ahora con un nuevo álbum completo, Apropiaciones Culturales V.2, en el que amplía sus experimentos musicales y sigue haciéndonos reír con su humor siempre ingenioso y sarcástico. Este nuevo álbum fue producido por Juan de Dios Martín Antón (Gloria Trevi, Alejandra Guzmán, La Santa Cecilia, Camarón, Las Cafeteras, etc.) y cuenta con la participación de figuras destacadas como Kalani Trinidad (Cultura Profética) en la flauta, el conjunto gallego “Lilaina” (Vetusta Morla, C Tangana, etc.) en los coros, Ezequiel Navas (Raphael, Amaral, La Orquesta Mondragón, etc.) en la batería y Pepe Ortega (Juanes, Alejandro Sanz, etc.) en algunos de los arreglos. |
