MILA LA MORENA Releases Raw and Diverse EP “Post Internet”

Following her house track “ESPEJO,” the Chicana Chicago-based artist Mila La Morena is back with her full EP POST INTERNET out today. POST INTERNET’s focus single is “encaje blanco,” a post-punk track that joins the diverse album’s genres that include glitch-pop, house, reggaeton, rock, and more.

Mila La Morena’s new EP, POST INTERNET, is a love letter to adolescence — a sonic collage of discovery, rebellion, heartbreak, and euphoria. With a genre-blending approach that spans from pulsating house and electronic rhythms to the raw aggression of nu-metal, Mila captures the chaos and beauty of growing up and finding oneself.

The EP’s title reflects on the overwhelming presence of the digital world and how the Internet has shaped a generation’s sense of identity, creativity, and connection. Rather than condemning or idealizing it, Mila holds up a mirror: the challenge isn’t escaping it, but remaining human within it — staying grounded, intentional, and emotionally alive amid the noise.

POST INTERNET’s focus track, “encaje blanco,” distills the album’s essence into a hauntingly emotional moment. Blending gothic post-punk energy with ethereal electronic textures and raw vulnerability, the song explores the intricacies of love and friendship through the lens of queer girlhood. It also captures the tenderness of early bonds between young women — soft, sacred connections that for Mila represented some of the purest forms of love she experienced growing up. “encaje blanco” shimmers with emotional nostalgia: innocent yet confused, luminous yet aching, embodying the bittersweet beauty of becoming.

Mila La Morena is a queer, Chicana artist whose project fuses R&B, reggaeton, pop, and electronic music into a sound that feels at once nostalgic and defiantly fresh. Singing in a perfect blend of English and Spanish, the Gen Z artist explores themes of love, power, and vulnerability through a lens shaped by her identity and lived experiences between the U.S. and Mexico City. Beyond her work as a composer and singer, Mila La Morena is a well-known cultural organizer involved in producing independent and DIY shows in Chicago, IL. She’s also been a part of important festivals like Ruido Fest, Tomorrow Never Knows Festival, and Villapalooza throughout her blossoming career. A key moment in her career was being featured in HBO Max’s Amarres. Since then, she has reconnected with her Mexican roots while bridging both music scenes. Recently, she was highlighted by Remezcla and featured on New Music Friday.
