Following a journey that included the launch of República del Karma Club, a European tour with Yami Safdie, and years of work as an independent artist, Guido Morán presents República del Karma, a concept album that brings together music, film, and performance within a single creative universe.
Some albums are born out of inspiration. Others are crafted over the course of years. República del Karma was a decision.
For six years, Guido Morán pursued two paths at the same time. While serving as artistic director and shaping the creative worlds of some of the biggest names in the new music scene, he continued to quietly build the project he had always envisioned for himself.
Without any major organizations backing him, he chose an independent path where every song, every music video, and every aesthetic decision took shape step by step. There were doors that didn’t open, projects that had to wait, and releases that were postponed. However, his goal never changed: to take República del Karma exactly where he had envisioned it.
The result is a work that spans various musical styles. With influences from pop, rock, trap, hyperpop, and electronic music, and a production rich in resources, the album presents an eclectic musical identity that finds unity within its own unique universe.
But República del Karma goes beyond music. Set in a dystopian future, the album tells the story of a character created by a system who decides to rebel against it to start a revolution. Through this epic tale, Guido explores themes such as diversity, social norms, the distribution of wealth, ecology, and collective responsibility, developing a narrative that unfolds in each music video like a new chapter in the story.
In recent months, that world began to take shape with the release of República del Karma Club, a remix EP featuring leading figures from the electronic music scene, and continued to grow during their participation in the Querida Yo Euro Tour alongside Yami Safdie, taking the project to stages in Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, and Austria.
“More than once, I was told that this project was too big for an independent artist. Far from giving up on that vision, I chose to hold on to it. Six years later, República del Karma exists exactly as it was imagined,” Guido reveals about this new album, which has finally been released. In addition, the album will feature a special presentation conceived in a cinematic format, deepening the dialogue between music, imagery, and performance that defines the entire body of work.
República del Karma is not a destination. It is the beginning of a work that will continue to expand, inviting the audience to enter a universe where each song is also a scene and each scene is part of the same story.
