Los Angeles, CA. (March 5, 2026) — After more than fifteen years building a body of work that blends Latin American song with contemporary production, Alex Ferreira delivers a project that speaks not of resignation, but of presence. Of the conscious decision to stay, listen, and go through the processes without anesthesia. El Arte de Esperar [The Art of Waiting] is available today, including the album’s focus single, “Prefiero Que Me Duela.”

El Arte de Esperar is a luminous album. Not because it avoids discomfort, but because it transforms it. Here, time is not a burden: it is fertile ground. The ten songs that make up the album celebrate emotional clarity, active patience, and the courage to feel even when it would be easier to distract oneself. Sonically, the album combines organic instrumentation with modern textures and an intimate production that prioritizes honesty. Every arrangement breathes. Every silence sustains.

“Waiting is not falling behind. It is learning to inhabit the exact moment you are in.” — Alex Ferreira.

The promotional single titled “Prefiero que me duela,” released alongside the album, encapsulates the emotional stance of this new material: choosing awareness over escapism. The song is an affirmative statement. Not from a place of harshness, but from one of clarity. The narrator prefers truth to self-deception and real connection to artificial comfort. This is the moment when the album becomes explicit: feeling is a form of courage. Previous singles such as “Elefante,” “Precisa Tiempo,” and “Bumerán” opened the album’s conceptual universe, and this song illuminates it in full.

Meanwhile, “Elefante” tackles the paradox of contemporary communication: that moment when everyone is talking but no one really understands each other. The song uses two powerful metaphors—the elephant in the room and the Tower of Babel—to capture moments of disconnection when we talk about trivialities or go in circles to avoid what is important.

In contrast to the rhythmic urgency of “Elefante,” “Precisa Tiempo,” which was released as the second single, looks at love from a place of calm. Not as vertigo or fleeting euphoria, but as something that grows when given space. It’s a song about accompanying, supporting, and not running when no one is chasing you.

“Bumerán” stands out as one of the most romantic tracks on Alex Ferreira’s new album, maintaining the same organic, intimate spirit without trying too hard to impress. Each element contributes to the whole, rather than seeking to draw attention to itself. It is a song that breathes.

Ferreira sings from maturity: the point where patience ceases to sound like resignation and begins to feel like freedom. Where life as a couple is neither a sprint nor a perfect photo, but a slow construction that is worth more than immediate impulse.
