THE SPANISH ECLECTIC GROUP THE RUMBA MADRE RELEASES SATIRICAL VIDEO FOR “JUANITO” A SONG FROM THEIR UPCOMING ALBUM  APROPIACIONES CULTURALES V.2

Los Angeles, CA. (January 23, 2026) — The Spanish and Latin eclectic group The Rumba Madre released their newest music video for their humorous cumbia, “Juanito.”

“Juanito,” the newest track from The Rumba Madre—the eclectic band known for fusing punk with rumba, son, celtic music, flamenco, salsa, and more—is a rhythmic cumbia about a man who wants to be a national hero and save any country from communists. The video for this song was filmed in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, right on the border with the United States. This gives the video a very particular tone, as it portrays an abstract conspiracy theorist character who takes the form of a young American in love with the president and obsessed with making America ‘great again’… It’s about a young man who, in his paranoia, consumes all kinds of information on the internet that makes him fear for the future of the United States and humanity. It makes him fear for everything and everyone, to the point that he ends up killing the dancers in the video’s choreography for fear that they, too, may be part of the international plot against his homeland.

Like the other videos, the star is the band’s frontman, David Vila Diéguez, who plays a young American who dreams of joining the army to help save his country. The young man also shows that his family is a military family, with a photo of his grandfather in uniform, and that, in addition to saving the United States, he must also save his family’s honor and prove he is a true American hero. Sonically, “Juanito” showcases the band’s rhythmic cumbia, punk, and alternative elements, paired with their signature witty, engaging storytelling.

Along with the new music video, the band has an upcoming tour with stops in various cities across California, Oregon, and Washington. More tour dates to be announced.
