LISTEN “APAPACHADA” HERE

Following her bilingual shoegaze and electronic-inspired track “broken,” the Chicana Chicago-based artist Mila La Morena is back with her third single “APAPACHADA,” from her upcoming album Post Internet.

“APAPACHADA” is a track that celebrates self-acceptance, inner strength, and the exploration of identities in a hyper-connected digital era. Featuring an immersive production and a dark, alternative vibe, the song is a declaration of emotional independence with a post-Y2K touch. With experimental textures, avant-pop touches, and a reggaeton flair, “APAPACHADA” is your new go-to song to pregame before a night out with the girls. The video, animated by Malus—known for their work with Meth Math—visually depicts the internal struggle against a consuming, transformative, and ultimately liberating technology.

With “APAPACHADA,” Mila adds another layer of artistry to her repertoire. That’s because Mila’s work embodies the spirit of a genre-defying artist—bridging sonic worlds and identities, always staying true to her authentic self. Through her music, she invites listeners to embrace contradictions: to be heartbroken yet hopeful, nostalgic yet futuristic, fragile yet fiercely alive.

Mila La Morena is a queer, Chicana artist whose project fuses R&B, reggaetón, pop, and electronic music into a sound that feels at once nostalgic and defiantly fresh. Singing in a perfect blend of English and Spanish, the Gen Z artist explores themes of love, power, and vulnerability through a lens shaped by her identity and lived experiences between the U.S. and Mexico City. Beyond her work as a composer and singer, Mila La Morena is a well-known cultural organizer who produces independent and DIY shows in Chicago, IL. She has also been a part of important festivals, including Ruido Fest, Tomorrow Never Knows Festival, and Villapalooza, throughout her blossoming career. She has also made notable contributions through sync placements in films and TV series. One highlight is her song featured in Amarres, the first original series produced by HBO for Latin America.

Up next, Mila La Morena is scheduled to release one more single before Post Internet drops, each offering a new facet of her sonic and emotional world.

More about Mila la MorenaBased in Chicago, but with Mexican roots, Mila La Morena is an emerging project that fuses sound ranging from R&B and reggaeton to pop and electronica. Within her career, we can highlight the synchronizations she has done for series and movies, such as “Amarres,” a song that was part of the series produced by HBO for Latin America of the same name.  Although this project is emerging, she has long been an active figure within the Chicago indie circuit, both as a singer and songwriter and as a cultural manager in producing independent and DIY shows. In addition to performing as a headlining artist at Chicago events such as Villapalooza and The Fly Honeys, which have led him to make his first tracks on the scene.
